Joséphine Bacon was born in 1947 in Pessamit. She is a director and a writer and has worked as a translator and interpreter. She is one of the most successful authors in Québec. Joséphine Bacon says of herself that she is not a poet, but that her nomadic and good-natured heart speaks a poetic language that echoes the echoes of the ancients who have marked her life.

Mémoire d'encrier published her first anthology Bâtons à message - Tshissinuashitakana in 2009. In 2011 followed the book Nous sommes tous des sauvages, which she published together with José Acquelin, in 2013 Un thé dans la toundra - Nipishapui nete mushuat, and in 2018 Uiesh • Quelque part

For 40 years she has been teaching Innu-Aimum, giving writing workshops and conferences at universities, schools and in communities such as Pessamit, Escoumins, Pointe-Bleue, Natashquan,Obedjiwan, Sept-îles and Odanak. She was invited to Colombia, France, Russia, Armenia, Germany, and Haiti. She regularly participates in poetry events and writes for Québec magazines as well as for magazines in Europe and Tahiti.

Joséphine Bacon, nomad of the Tundra, invites the reader to discover the vast landscapes through her poems and thus recalls the essential: beauty, simplicity and sensuality.
