הַבַּיִת הָפוּךְ
כְּשֶׁאַתְּ אוֹמֶרֶת
הַבַּיִת הָפוּךְ
אֶפְשָׁר לַחְשֹׁב
שֶׁהַיְסוֹדוֹת בַּשָּׁמַיִם
קוֹלְטִים עָרוּץ שְׁתַּיִם,
דּוּדֵי הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ פְּקָעוֹת,
הָאַנְטֶנוֹת מַכּוֹת
שָׁרָשִׁים, הַשְּׁטִיחִים
מֵעַל הָרֹאשׁ וְהָאוֹר
זוֹרֵחַ מֵהָאֲרִיחִים.
הַבַּיִת הָפוּךְ,
הַיְלָדִים מְרַחֲפִים יְשֵׁנִים
בִּשְׂמִיכוֹת פּוּךְ,
צַעֲצוּעִים מְפֻזָּרִים עַל הַתִּקְרָה
וְאָנוּ יוֹשְׁבִים הֲפוּכִים
בְּכֻרְסָאוֹת הַזַּיִת
תְּלוּיִים בָּאֲוִיר כְּמוֹ תְּפִלָּה
לִשְׁלוֹם בַּיִת.
The House is Upside Down
When you say
the house is a mess*
I picture
foundations up in the sky
attempting to watch the game on Sky
Sports, sun heated water tanks
sprout from bulbs,
antennas plant
roots, the doormat
worn as a hat,
cracks in the floor let the light in.
The house is a mess*
the kids hover in their sleep
on a quilt,
toys line the ceiling
and we sit
upside down in an olive colored armchair
suspended in mid-air, like a prayer
for domestic bliss.
