I woke early
And caught  the   chicory flower   open
And the  mist
     Dissolving, clearing the   field   for the   sun
That didn’t grow fiery yet

and I could   sit freely
    in the middle   of the wide paved    stone yard
though the world remained
                   " a narrow bridge "
And I teated myself
   To some tea   made of   herbes
That I picked  up    on the  hill
                And down in the  vally,
On which I poured   water
     That came from    deep in the earth
Or from the     clouds above --
  That god knows out of what sea   they    evaporated


And I passed it all
     Through my    body
To be an     interwoven vessel
to the   universe.
