we zeggen we
hebben geen theorie nodig
maar de theorie overleeft
de theorie sijpelt door
in gemompel
in hongerige monden
in seks en in breekbaarheid
breekbaarheid is belangrijk
is aanraking, is democratie en dus
is het geen kwestie
er is geen parlementaire vertegenwoordiging mogelijk
geen transformatie
goede stress en zekerheid worden voor mij gemaakt
in Bangladesh
niet geëmancipeerder
maar dommer worden, waarmee ik wil zeggen
falen zonder bijbedoelingen
want ik probeer me voor te stellen
hoe een herstelde wereld eruitziet
en denk dan aan de zakken chips en het nationale sentiment
waarvan ik eet en ik eet
tot ik misselijk word

we say we
don’t need any theory
but theory survives
theory seeps through
into mumbling
into famished mouths
into sex and into fragility
fragility is important
is touch, is democracy and thus
it is no issue
no parliamentary representation is possible
no transformation
positive stress and security are made for me
in Bangladesh
not more emancipated
but more stupid, by which I mean
failing without ulterior motives
because I am trying to imagine
what a repaired world would look like
and then I think of the packets of crisps and the national sentiment
that I eat and I eat
till I get sick
