Han Bo, born in 1973, works as editor of a magazine in Shanghai and is counted as one of the best young poets in China.

He has published several collections of verse and edited an anthology of contemporary Chinese poetry. His poetry is marked by a sober and innovative language which counters the strongly sentimental tradition in China and at the same time builds bridges between classical Chinese verse and the present. His long stream-of-consciousness poems draw readers in like a camera journey and show the influence of his work as a dramatist as well as a poet.
In 2009 he attended the International Writers Workshop in Iowa, his plays have been performed in China and the USA and his poems have earned him awards including the Liu Li'an Prize for Poetry.
