居住于:Cairo, 埃及

Girgis Shoukry was born into a Coptic family in Sohag, Egypt, some 500 km south of Cairo. After studying for a career in business, he went on to complete a diploma at the National Academy of Arts and now works as an art and drama critic for a Radio and Television magazine in Cairo, as well as being co-editor of the literary journal Aswaat adabiyya (Literary Voices).

The poems of Girgis Shoukry are straightforward in content, telling simple events from a shifted perspective. He himself likens his poetry to the paintings of the Belgian artist René Magritte, from whose work he borrowed the cover designs for his collections.
