Attila Jász was born in 1966 in Szőny, Hungary. He is a poet, essayist, and the editor-in-chief of the literary journal Új Forrás

'Attila Jász has reached a very significant turning-point in a type of poetry long constructed on strict consistency, and his rich, powerful works, pointing in many directions and offering exciting interpretative possibilities, are witness to this. He ’sets off int he direction of greatest resisitence’ when writing poetry, and feels that he is made to pay for the reality that knowladge gleaned from literature is feeble and unreliable and ’intellectually impregnable reality’, and it is the possibilities for an animated meeting of reality and myth that both constrain and liberate his (poetic) imagination.' --David Robert Evans
