BOR OTELİ
turščina | Nâzim Hikmet
Şu Varna’da uyumanın yolu yok geceleri,
uyumanın yolu yok
yıldızların bolluğundan,
yakınlığından parlaklığından,
kumlukta hışırtısından ölü dalgaların,
sedefleriyle,
çakıllarıyla,
tuzlu yosunların hışırtısı;
denizde bir yürek gibi atan motor sesinden,
İstanbul’dan çıkıp
Boğaz’ı geçip
odamı dolduran anıların yüzünden
kimisinin gözü yeşil,
kimisinin bilekleri kelepçeli
kimisinin bir mendil var elinde,
lavanta çiçeği kokuyor mendil.
Şu Varna’da uyumanın yolu yok, gülüm
Şu Varna’da, Bor Oteli’nde.

BOR HOTEL
angleščina
No way you can sleep nights in Varna,
no way you can sleep:
for the wealth of stars
so close and brilliant,
for the rustle of dead waves on the sand,
of salty weeds
with their pearly shells
and pebbles,
for the sound of a motorboat throbbing like a heart at sea
for the memories filling my room,
coming from Istanbul,
passing through the Bosporus,
and filling my room,
some with green eyes,
some in handcuffs
or holding a handkerchief-
the handkerchief smells of lavender.
No way you can Sleep in Varna, my love,
in Varna at the Bor Hotel.
ANGİNA PEKTORİS
turščina | Nâzim Hikmet
Yarısı burdaysa kalbimin
yarısı Çin'dedir, doktor.
Sarınehre doğru akan
ordunun içindedir.
Sonra, her şafak vakti, doktor,
her şafak vakti kalbim
Yunanistan'da kurşuna diziliyor.
Sonra, bizim burda mahkûmlar uykuya varıp revirden el ayak çekilince
kalbim Çamlıca'da bir harap konaktadır
her gece, Doktor.
Sonra, şu on yıldan bu yana
benim fakir milletime ikrâm edebildiğim
Bir tek elmam var elimde, doktor,
Bir kırmızı elma:
kalbim...
Ne arteryo skleroz, ne nikotin, ne hapis,
işte bu yüzden, doktorcuğum, bu yüzden
bende bu angina pektoris...
Bakıyorum geceye demirlerden
ve iman tahtamın üstündeki baskıya rağmen
kalbim en uzak yıldızla birlikte çarpıyor...
ANGINA PECTORIS
angleščina
If half my heart is here, doctor,
the other half is in China
with the army flowing
towards the Yellow River.
And every morning, doctor,
every morning at sunrise my heart
is shot in Greece.
And every night, doctor,
when the prisoners are asleep and the infirmary is deserted,
my heart stops at a run-down old house
in Istanbul.
And then after ten years
all I have to offer my poor people
is this apple in my hand, doctor,
one red apple:
my heart.
And that, doctor, that is the reason
for this angina pectoris-
not nicotine, prison, or arteriosclerosis.
I look at the night through the bars,
and despite the weight on my chest
my heart still beats with the most distant stars.
