Mohammad Hashem Akbariani, born 1964 in Bojnord (Iran), is a poet and journalist. He works at 'Hamshahri', a newspaper based in Tehran, as well as as a writer for other publications.

Akbariani has published two volumes of poetry: „Nist ta Nist“ (From Nothing to Nothing, 2003) and „Nimghobere Delkhoshi“ (Dust of Delight, 2005).

In addition to this, he is the edior of a 25 volume 'Oral History of Persian Literature' ('Tarikhe shafahiye adabiate iran'): A compendium of interviews with contemporary Iranian writers, poets, critics and translators. 5 volumes of the 25 have already been published.
