Eduard Sanahuja was born in Barcelona on 20 March 1953. He studied Romance and Spanish Philology and Catalan Philology at the University of Barcelona where he is now a tenured lecturer in the Department of Linguistic and Literary Education. His area of specialisation is teaching legibility and writing.


His work has been included in the anthologies Sol de sal. La nova poesia catalana, Antologia 1976-2001, (Sun of Salt: An Anthology of New Catalan Poetry, 1976 – 2001, DVD, 2001) and in 20 del XX. Poetas catalanes (Twenty from the Twentieth: Catalan Poets – La Otra / Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Monterrey, 2013). As a translator, he has translated into Catalan part of the poetic work of Blaise Cendrars, namely Prosa del Transsiberià (Trans-Siberian Prose – Edicions 62, Barcelona, 1992), and Capsa d’escats (Box of Sandpaper, Servei de Publicacions UAB, Barcelona, 2008), by the Aragonese poet Javier Carnicer.

In 1989, he and three other poets founded “Aula de Poesia” with the aim of promoting poetry and making it more accessible. He is currently its vice-president.
