Christian Ide Hintze, born in Vienna in 1953, grew up in Salzburg.

Hintze was lyricist; audio, video and performance poet; initiator and head of the “School for Poets” (Vienna). 1974-79 street- and paper-slip poetry with the poet Seethaler. 1976 he was arrested in East Berlin for unlawfully distributing handbills.

Since 1983 Hintze took part in readings, congresses and was lecturing on Lesbos, in Italy, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Argentina, Vietnam, Uruguay, Mexico, USA and Indonesia. 1997 he was co-founding the „Virtual Academy“.

Hintze lived in Vienna. In February 2012 he died in Vienna at the age of 58.
