Sara Mohammadi Ardehali

Line by Line

английский

 I long for a man,

a blind man

who can read Braille.

A man who’d read my body

chapter by chapter,

who’d explore my wordplays.

I’d hold his hands.

I’d walk with him arm in arm,

unfolding the world to him.

I’d be his eyes,

his walking cane

and I’d leave out

all the ugly sights of the world

in my accounts.

Sara Mohammadi Ardehali

You and I

английский

 My poor geranium!

These days, when I’m not feeling well

it has lost a few leaves.

What can I do about it

when we drink from the same mug?

.

Sara Mohammadi Ardehali

A Full-time Job

английский

No man wants to fall in love

with a woman

who works in a circus,

a kind of women

who is supposed to walk on ropes.

No man likes to fall in love

with a woman

who might fall any minute.

And even if she doesn’t

thousands of people

would clap for her.

Sara Mohammadi Ardehali

Your Throat

английский

At midnight,

I hear your breath.

I turn to you.

“You want water?”

How imaginative I am!

Does darkness drink?

“Of course I drink”, you reply.

پارک

Sara Mohammadi Ardehali

The Park

английский

 The man asked:

“May I sit next to you?”

I pointed at the sign beside the bench:

 The paint is still wet…

 The man walked away.
