Golan Haji

The Eighth Son

английский

Oh stranger,
my twin and assassin of my times
please
as quietly as me
climb the stairs
as if you’re treading on your father’s soil
ease your steps as much as you can
ease your hard heels on the dirty stones,
silently pass like that cloud
or disappear like this ant
climbing the wall of the world
look at no one, nor lower your eyes
never spit at my door
if I should slam it absent-mindedly
 don’t stop, don’t laugh, don’t speak
                             before the door
there is someone scared by your approach
someone who sees you as a monster though you do not know it.
