কথার ওপারে যেতে চাই
সবই দেখি অর্থময়, সবকিছু প্রবল বাঙ্ময়—
যা কিছু সচিহ্ন তার সবটাই সশব্দ হুঙ্কার
হয়ে উঠছে, ভাসিয়ে লোপাট করছে সমস্ত সংসার।
কোথায় সে হ্রদ যার চিরস্থির জলে
ঢিল ছুড়লে তরঙ্গ ওঠে না?
নিরুচ্চার, তুমি জেগে ওঠো

I’d like to cross over to the other shore of words
I find everything too meaningful, too true
All things marked are transformed into words
That scream out, sweep away and devastate entire generations.
Where is that lake whose eternally still water
Won’t ripple even when a stone is thrown into it?
O inarticulate one—Look alive!
