So Augenweide Achsen [Und fragt sich unten:]

Und fragt sich unten: Wer hat diese Hecke geschnippelt,
und sie angehoben, sodass sie, wohin man schaut,
den Blick verstellt? Man kommt nicht drum herum, nun
über Ebenen zu grübeln: Als ließe sich, mit einem Griff,
das Quadrat zum Kubus heben. Als ließe sich niemals anders
als senkrecht zum Boden gehen und parallel zu ihm sehen.
Als rücke entlang der Hecken das Becken ab, als schiebe man
alles vor sich her. Als befänden sich alle Ecken hier
und Punkte in der Ferne in Wahrheit an derselben Stelle.
Und dann tritt man nach all den Treppen doch geradeaus.

Such Easy Eye Axes [And wonder below:]

And wonder below: who trimmed this hedge
and raised it so wherever you look it blocks
your gaze? Now you can no longer avoid wondering
about surfaces: as if, with a quick trick, the square
could become a cube. As if you could never walk
but perpendicular to the ground while seeing parallel to it.
As if along the hedge the pond were moving away, as if you
were pushing everything along. As if all the corners here
and the points in the distance actually were in the same place.
And then, after all the stairs, you stride straight ahead after all.
