VITA
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
L'accendersi e
lo spegnersi
(per caso?) della vita
la traccia luminosa
la scia che lascia
dietro a sé
quello che è stato
amato o non amato
comunque sconosciuto
la gioia e il lutto:
precipitato, tutto,
nel cieco vaso
tra le braccia del buio.
L'orma appassita
eppure, intanto,
rifiorita
di ogni cosa.
L'ombra e l'odore
neppure più il colore
il pensiero pensato
della rosa.
LIFE
inglês
How life
begins and ends
(perhaps by chance?)
the luminous track
the wake that leaves
behind all
that was loved
or unloved
or at least unknown
joy or strife:
all is cast into
the blind vase
in the arms of darkness.
And yet meanwhile
the faded trace
of all things
flourishes anew.
The shadow and the smell
lees than the colour
the evocation
of the rose.
PER VIA DI NASO
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
Ti ho vista in sogno
che mi correvi incontro
sorpresa e soddisfatta
di avermi ritrovato,
felice anch'io
sia pur sentendo
che mi sapevi
persuaso dell'inganno
e che il trasporto
era soprattutto il mio.
E nel cristallo
della mia visione
per via di naso
è stato, intanto,
che ti ho baciato
contro un muro giallo
tenendo tra le braccia
il tuo profumo.
Svegliatomi in affanno
mi ha preso il desiderio
e mi è bruciato dentro
tutto il giorno,
ma non volevo spegnerlo
beato, restando
a cuocermi nel forno.
THROUGH THE NOSE
inglês
I have seen you in a dream
running towards me
surprised and pleased
to have found me again,
and I was as happy
though I felt
that I was
persuaded by the deceit
and that the ecstasy
was especially my own.
And in the crystal
of my vision
through the nose
I have meanwhile
kissed you against a yellow wall
holding your perfume in my arms.
I woke up in a sweat
and throughout the day
I was filled with desire
and burning inside,
happy to remain
roasting in that oven.
SULLA TUA GOLA
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
La lieve curva della gola
nel pronunciare una parola,
l'ombra sul petto e
il taglio della mano
che sale lungo il fianco,
quel bianco incarnato
sfumato appena
in un ventaglio
di smagliature.
Tratti minimi, sia pure,
punti legati in un segmento:
forma colore consistenza.
Solo il dettaglio,
nel farsi oggetto
e luogo circoscritto
ai nostri sensi,
rende presente
e non più astratto
né più evanescente
o spento e vano
l'istinto a opporre
al tempo un'immanenza
fingendosi un istante
eterno il mondo
prima che la traccia
slitti via
cadendo a fondo.
ON YOUR THROAT
inglês
The gentle curve of the throat
when you say a word,
the shadow on your breast and
the outline of the hand
sliding up your side,
that incarnate whiteness
almost lost
in a pattern of fine lines.
The smallest feature, but pure,
prints linked in a segment:
form, colour consistent.
Only the detail,
on becoming the object
and the fixed place
of our senses
creates a present
and not less fleeting
or lost or futile
the instinct to oppose
an inner quality to time
and pretend for a moment
the world is eternal
before the trail
escapes you and
is lost in the deep.
DESTINO
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
È in quel remoto soffio
dentro al cuore
che ognuno riconosce
il suo destino.
Il sogno più proibito:
l'idea di un infinito
perfino quotidiano,
lasciato in sorte
al corpo dell'amore.
Arreso e imprigionato
per conservare intatto
il suo sapore,
sottratto al vuoto
tenuto tra le cosce
a lungo, invano,
come l'acqua
che scivola comunque
dalla mano.
DESTINY
inglês
It is in that remote rushing
within the heart
that everyone recognises
his proper destiny.
A dream strictly forbidden:
the idea of infinity
even quotidian
accidentally bequeathed
to the body by love.
Caught and locked up
to preserve its
taste intact,
extracted from the void
kept long but vainly
between the thighs,
like water
slipping anyway
from your hand.
DESIDERIO
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
Penso di me
che frugo con la mano
il corpo arreso e
aperto a ogni assalto
e ascolto intanto,
teso sul tonfo
del tuo cuore,
la voce che cigola
e che stride
pronunciando:
"amore".
Penso di me che
conto piano
ogni anfratto e appiglio
scoperta e nascondiglio
tuo di me che punto
e mi assottiglio
e cerco e inseguo
misurandola sul serio
la causa
di tanto desiderio.
DESIRE
inglês
I think of myself
whose hand caresses
the willing body
lying open to any assault
and meanwhile listen
supine on the throbbing
of your heart
to a voice grating
and squeaking
the word
‘love’.
I think of myself who
quietly count your
every crevice and bump
known and unknown places,
of myself who prods
and reduces for myself
and chases and hunts
to consider earnestly
the cause
of so much desire.
AMORE
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
Così, di colpo
mi colgo sullo specchio
stretto nell'abbraccio
mentre mi proietto
oltre me stesso:
contratto desiderio
e strazio di un soggetto
che mima la fusione. Ma
annulla la finzione e il sogno
di unione più totale
proprio l'oggetto
duro che, intanto,
sale su nel mezzo
di noi due
e che si oppone
corpo estraneo
alla sua stessa affermazione.
LOVE
inglês
Thus, I suddenly
catch myself in the mirror
in a stifling embrace
while I project myself
beyond myself:
a cramped desiring
and tormenting of someone
that imitates fusion. But
what breaks the illusion, the dream
of a complete union
is just the hard
object that, even now,
lifts itself up between
the two of us
thus raising
an objection
to its own statement.
DA NESSUNA PARTE
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
Quante volte
sono partito
appena giorno o
nel cuore della notte
e, molte, controvoglia
nel dispetto finito
con la testa
sulla soglia del ritorno.
Se si potessero sommare
una all'altra
tutte le rotte
e aggiungere le mete
foglia su foglia
quale catena lunga
di deriva,
che mostruoso disegno
della distanza
si comporrerebbe nel totale
sulle carte...
sarebbe la riprova
di una condanna
senza mai riposo,
si vedrebbe
che non si avanza
di una spanna,
che più si va
e meno si trova,
che non si arriva
da nessuna parte.
NOWHERE
inglês
How many times
have I left
before daybreak or
at dead of night
and often reluctantly
all irritation lost
and my mind on
the threshold of return.
Could they be piled
one on the other
all those roads
and stack those destinations
leaf upon leaf
what a continual drifting
what a monstrous tangle
of distances
would this form
on a map…
it would confirm
the sentence that you
will never find rest,
and yet show
how you will never
advance a span,
that the more you go
and the less you stay
you never arrive
nowhere.
NELL'ATTO DI PARTIRE
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
Sarà che l'ho sentita
ogni volta uguale
e non è stata mai
una cosa astratta
ma proprio segnata
sulla pelle, fatta
azione materiale
che assale e
che cancella,
un'incisione dolorosa
una particella tolta
e consumata tutta
una limatura
in puncti loco
un accorciamento minimale.
Dipenderà, sia pure,
dalla mia natura...
però lo sperimento
nell'atto di partire
che tanto o poco
è già un morire.
WHENEVER I GO
inglês
Then, at last
I get moving
notwithstanding
the urge to stay
as closely as I can
in sight of what I know.
But against that, I leave
only to return.
Nor do I know
what is so true
and convincing
about this thought…
a strong intuition
a sixth sense
driving me,
the sudden realisation
of a paradoxical
discovery,
that truly to find yourself
you must first
lose yourself.
VIAGGIO
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
Poi, alla fine,
mi metto in moto
nonostante
la tentazione di restare
nelle zone più vicine
in vista del mio noto.
Ma, in compenso, parto
solo per tornare.
Non so neanch'io
cos'è che vale
e mi convince,
quale pensiero...
un'intuizione certa
un sesto senso
che mi spinge,
la coscienza fulminante
di una scoperta
paradossale,
che bisogna perdersi
per potersi davvero
ritrovare.
JOURNEY
inglês
I know what I have felt
again and again
and never has it been
something abstract
but clearly drawn
on my skin, an
actual etching
that attacks and
cleanly removes
a painful carving
a scrap removed
and wholly gone
filings in
a specific spot
a minimal reduction…
Anyway, I cannot
change myself
yet I feel that
whenever I go
it is somehow
a bit like dying.
TUNNEL
italiano | Paolo Ruffilli
È all'improvviso,
dentro il tunnel
che non finisce mai,
nell'aria morta
che pizzica alla gola.
Tutte le volte
che ci sono già passato.
Eppure, no, non vale
che lo ricordi,
lo anticipi una sola.
Picchio nel muro
e lì mi rendo conto,
dentro il percorso
cieco e uguale
specchio di me
a una mia spoglia,
di ciò che è stato
di come, in fondo
e contro ogni mia voglia,
io sia cambiato.
TUNNEL
inglês
And all at once
deep in the tunnel
that goes on and on,
in the dead air
that tickles your throat.
All those journeys
that have led me here before.
And yet, no, it’s no use
remembering, looking
forward to another one.
I knock on the wall
and thus become aware,
during the dry
and selfsame passage
of my reflection
of a ghost of myself
of what is left
as if, deep down
and against my very will,
I had been transformed.
