İLHAMİ

turco | Metin Cengiz

1-

2-

Kül mü gelir dile, külün ruhu mu
Ot nasıl dayanır dilsizliğe ey kahin

Hayat ki ölümün en çetrefil kardeşi
Ve insan ki bir atın göğe kişnemesi
Taş çağından kalma bir şölen sesi
Bir kaçağın sığındığı karanlık bir in

Hayat dedik, rakı içercesine yaşadık
Beli kırılır diye namussuz burjuvazinin
Zaman eledi bizi, felek kıyıp kavurdu
Kudurttu yurdumda faşizm denen o kuduz kurdu

3-

Hayat acımasız İlhami, gerçekler acı
Rüzgâr eser, rüzgâr eser ve rüzgâr eser
Bir top ateş olur hayat hayatın müminleri
Ne söz kalır İlhami ne de sözün cinleri

(Sahi hangi usta hangi hamlede
Fırlatıp atar sokaklara altın tacı?)

Hayat su gibi İlhami, tutamıyor insan
Elde kalıyor yalnızca kekremsi bir tat
Saatler vuruyor saatler vuruyor ve saatler vuruyor
En acemi oyuncuya kalıyor şah ve mat

Göğsünü bun’lara siper eden kardeşim
Şimdi yolda bir ışıksın sen yolda bir im

4-
Ben bir fotoğrafı yazdım bir yüzü okuyarak
Geçmiş yakın İlhami gelecek ırak

İLHAMİ

inglês

1-

Come on, my friend, forget that water flows
water waves, water calms down, water's
the cloud fallen over the ground

what's a cloud, my friend, the sky's too long
there's rain, the storm, then the sun
then the question if we studied life at school
then the flour that someone makes from wheat.

that, my friend, is it; it starts like a horse rearing up
how hard it is that life resembles a race
water flows, water flows and flows
the stones look at it when they're turning into sand

life, my friend, is a ball of thread become a mess!
and sweaty, a horse about to crack up

2-

Does the ash come into its mouth or its soul?
How does the grass endure the lack of tongue, oh prophet?

Life is the most complicated brother of death
and a human's a horse neighing at the sky
the sound of a feast left from the stone age
an inn a refugee shelters in.

we called it life, we lived as if we drank raki
so that the unscrupulous bourgeoise is crippled
time sieved us, fate hit us hard
enraged the rabid wolf called faschism in our country

3-

Life is without mercy, İlhami, the truth bitter
The wind blows, the wind blows and blows
life turns into a ball of flame, for muslims
neither the word, İlhami, nor demons of the word is left

(So which master ---in what action---
Throws the crown into streets?)

Life's like water, İlhami, it's not held.
What rests in our hands is an astringent taste
clocks strike, clocks strike and strike
Check and mate are left to the clumsiest player.

My brother, who shields them with his own body
you're a light now on the road now, you're a sign.

4-

I've written about a photo by reading a face
the past is near, İlhami, the future is faraway.

* For my poet friend İlhami Çiçek, who committed suicide.

Gezi Parkında bir Kuş Yuvası

turco | Müesser Yeniay

Nâzım Hikmet’e saygıyla

Bir kuş yuvasından yazıyorum bunları
iki dal arasında, Gezi parkında
göğsüme bıçak gibi saplanıyor nefesim
göğü yıkmaya geliyorlar bütün yeryüzü halkıyla

bir kuş yuvasıyım Gezi parkında
iki dal arasında

burada insanlar zehirli
ağaçlar sökülmüş

kovuluyoruz annemizin
bizi davet ettiği dünyadan

kuş seslerini bombalıyorlar
-çıkaramaz kuşlar çil çil para sesini-

bir Ethem duyuluyor ateşler içinde Anka!
kaynak işçisi Ankara'da…
yığılıyor bedeni kuş tüyü gibi

ölmeden toprak ediyorlar bizi
duman altında sokak çocukları ve kediler
kambur sırtlarında kaybolan rüya
kör gözlerle dünyaya bakılmaz artık
ya uyumak hiç ummadığın bir anda!
hiç ummadığın anda uyumak…

ben bir kuş yuvasıyım Gezi parkında
bir çift dal arasında

A Bird’s Nest in Gezi Park

inglês

In the memory of Nâzım Hikmet with respect

I’m writing these words from a bird nest
between two branches, in Gezi Park
like a knife my breath is stuck in my chest
they’re coming to destroy the sky
together with all the people of the earth

I’m a bird’s nest in Gezi Park
between two branches

here the people are poisoned
the trees are uprooted

we’re being expelled from
where our mothers invited us

they’re bombing the twittering of birds
-birds can’t produce the sound of cash-

Ethem* is heard, a simurg in fire!
A welding worker in Ankara
his body is collapsing like a feather
They’re turning us into earth before we die.
under smoke street children and cats...
on their hunched backs a lost dream
blind eyes can’t look at the world...
or fall to sleep in an unexpected moment!
in an unexpected moment to sleep...

I’m a bird’s nest in Gezi Park
between a pair of branches

*Ethem is a victim who was killed by the government in the protests

Bir Yabancıyım En Çok Kendime

turco | Müesser Yeniay

Üzerimde bir yabancıyla yaşıyorum
sanki zıplasam düşecek içimden

boynumdan altını seyrediyorum
saçları saçlarımdan
elleri ellerimden

ellerimin kökü toprak altında
acıyan bir toprağım ben kendi üstümde

kaç defa
ezilen aklımı taşın altında bıraktım

uyuyorum dinlensin
uyanıyorum çekip gitsin
-uykudan neler öğrenmeliyim-

üzerimde bir yabancıyla yaşıyorum
sanki zıplasam düşecek içimden

I’m a Stranger Mostly to Myself

inglês

On me, I live with a stranger
and if I jump, he would fall out of me

I watch under my neck
his hair like my hair
his hands like my hands

under earth, the root of my hands
an aching earth I am, on myself

how many times
have I left my crushed mind under stone

I sleep so that he rests
I wake so that he leaves
-what should I learn from sleep?-

on me I live with a stranger
and if I jump, he would fall out of me

Karanlığın Coğrafyası

turco | Müesser Yeniay

Gözlerini kapatma gece oldu
kaybedebilirsin kendini
bir mürekkep gibi
dağılarak karanlığa

işte
her yer senin olduğun yer

işte ışığa çarpıp düşen yüzümüz
bir araya geliyor
parçaları birleşen bir vazo gibi

lekeleri yok aydınlığın…

bir sevgili gibi duran karanlık
kucaklıyor ve içine dâhil ediyor seni

işte yine
her yer senin olduğun yer

işte herkesin giydiği aynı elbise
gece

Geography of Darkness

inglês

Don’t close your eyes, now it’s night
you can lose yourself
like ink
scattering on darkness

here
everywhere’s where you are

here our face that falls by crashing light
is coming together
like a vase whose pieces unite

there are no spots on light…

the darkness that stands like a lover
embraces and includes you

here
everywhere’s where you are

here’s the same cloth that everyone wears
night

Now Don’t Tell Me of Men!

inglês

My soul hurts so much that
I awaken the stones under the earth

my womenhood
a moneybox filled with stones
a home to worms, woodpeckers
a cave to the wolves climbing down my body
on my arms, new seeds are sprinkled
the man of your life is searched
that’s quite a serious matter

my womanhood, my cold snack
and my pubic, a home for nothingness,
the world stands here
and yourself! live with the rubbish thrown into you

when he’s gone, tell him that flesh leaves nails
that you live with the science of the break
tell him of that serious illness

like a lamb skin, I’m cold in your gaze
I’m not in debt to you your mothers womb, sir!
my womanhood, my invaded continent

neither am I  a cultivated land…
scratch off the organ that’s not mine
like a snake skin, I wish I could drop it
it’s not reasonable to be a mother to murder

it’s not homeland that’s divided
but the body of woman
now, don’t tell me of men!

Translated by Müesser Yeniay

Ana Yas

turco | Müesser Yeniay

Kadın olmak
istila edilmekmiş anne

her şeyimi aldılar

çocukluğumu bir kadın
kadınlığımı bir erkek

Tanrı kadını yaratmasın
Tanrı doğurmayı bilmez

kaburga kemikleri kırıldı işte
bütün erkeklerin

boynumuz kıldan ince

erkekler bir cenaze gibi
taşıyor omuzlarında bizi

ayak altında kaldık

bir tüy gibi hafif uçtuk
bir âlemden bir âdeme

sözlerim de onların
ayak izidir anne

Lament

inglês

To be a woman
means being invaded, O mum!

they took my everything

a woman took my childhood
a man, my womanhood...

God should not create woman
God doesn’t know how to give birth

here, the ribs of all men
are broken

our necks are thinner than hair

men are carrying us
like a funeral on their shoulders

we have been under their feet

light like a feather
we flew from a world to an Adam

and my words are, oh mum!
their footprints....

Bedenimle Dünyanın Arasına

turco | Müesser Yeniay

Saçlarımda umutsuzluk uzuyor
kökü bende nasılsa

yeryüzü gibi dümdüzüm
yeryüzünün ortasında

anılarımı bir çadıra koysam
-kendimi başka bir çadıra-

gözlerim kayboluyor…

bir tohumdan çıkmış gibiyim
bir tohuma girecek gibi

acılar taşıyan bir kervan
geçiyor her gün üzerimden

-bir nal iziyim bu yüzden
günün yüzünde-

bedenimle dünyanın arasına
mesafe koymalıyım

Between My Body and the World

inglês

In my hair, despair is growing longer
its root is in me, however

like earth I’m smooth
in the center of it

if I put my memories in a tent
and myself in another tent

my eyes would disappear…

I’m as if I’ve come out of a seed
I’ll go back into that seed

I’m a footprint of a horseshoe
on the face of daytime

between my body and the world
I should put a distance
