Víčka

                         (a když se Bódhidharma přistihl,
                         že se mu samovolně sklížila)

Druhé. Zírám jak se řítí k zemi
odráží
a tříští, ještě nevěřím
ještě chvíli se mi zdá, že by se to snad dalo vrátit
už druhé víčko během pěti dnů

to propuklo
už v druhé čajové konvici otvor   který
nemám čím uzavřít            který
na mě míří                který

A na podlaze střepy

Vzkaz se musí psát zřetelným písmem
Popřípadě i obtáhnout

Netvářím se že nerozumím

Dějsecoděj čínské nebo japonské
natvrdo
že stěží by mohlo být přesvědčivější
A i kdyby tu nebyl chybný pohyb
Děj sám

Tvářím se že rozumím
Přišel jsem k tomu jak k vodovodu
Vytrhané stránky
Zítřejší schůzka, na kterou nebyl důvod myslet
Jenom jsem sáhl a spolehl se
že u zeleného čaje jako tolikrát
přesmykem druhého        ještě i třetího zalití
Rozumím že se tvářím?

Už se to usadilo, voda je horká
a jestli neudržitelnost, pak tedy nezachytitelná
Uplyne několik příštích hodin
Myslím, že se setmí, že nezůstane světlo
Večer se asi dá očekávat

Cinkání svinutých lístků
jemné pocinkávání
Křápnutí keramiky, už druhého víčka

Teprve na patře mi to splyne

Vyladění. Děj se
co čaj

Lids

(and when Bodhidharma caught his eyelids
            drooping of their own accord)

A second one. I stare as it comes plummeting down
bounces back
and shatters, still in doubt
still hoping for a moment it could be restored
already a second lid in five days

it broke out
already a second teapot with an opening that
I have nothing to cover with          that
is aiming at me                      that

And the shards on the floor

A message must be written in distinct letters
Possibly even retraced

I don’t pretend not to understand

Comewhatmay Chinese or Japanese
undone
it could hardly be more conclusive
And even if there were no staggering slip
Things come

I pretend to understand
It came my way, just like the water tap
Torn pages
Tomorrow’s meeting there was no reason to think about
I only touched and trusted
green tea, time and time again
through a twist of the second    and even of the third infusion
Do I understand that I am pretending?

It has settled down already, water is scalding
If unsustainability, then unseizable
Some forthcoming hours will pass
I think it will get dark, the light will not last
The evening may be expected

Tinkle of coiled leaves
a fine tinkling
Crunch of the ceramics, a second lid already

It only comes to merge on my palate

Tuning up. Tea
may come
