[Can you give me some money]
[Can you give me some money]
Can you give me some money
so I can buy my dotter
back from döden
because poetry is not enough
or it is too much
an inflation of language I have to cut
back the words so I can
buy my daughter back I can’t
buy her back I can draw her
lungs in the garden the dogs are
loose again says the neighborhood
kid who’s starving in Giovanni’s
room we write poems
with burning branches I write
my daughter’s name it’s a poem
about flowers I’m a connoisseur
of flowers so I take a photograph
of my torso my foreign torso
has to have lilies on it
will you buy the photograph
for $44,000 it won’t
be enough for my daughter it
will pay skulden the mother
debt I’m an expert on father
skulden trash the camera
there is too much
debt on the border
between the camera
and my trickle-out mouth
my treacle-out economy
I have sugar in my oskuld
I have skuld in my poetry
