Marko Pogačar was born in Split in 1984. He graduated in Comparative Literature and History from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. There Pogačar is currently attending post-graduate courses in literature, culture, performing arts and film.

Pogačar regularly publishes poetry, essays and literary criticism in Croatian and foreign media, printed as well as online. He also works for the Croatian radio. Furthermore, Pogačar is an editor of Quorum, a literary magazine, and Zarez, a bi-weekly for cultural and social issues. He is a programme board member of Goran’s Spring, the oldest and most significant Croatian poetry festival. His poetry has been translated and published in fifteen languages. Pogačar already took part in various poetry festivals in Croatia and worldwide.
