Mario Brassard was born in Sainte-Flore in 1978. He earned a BA in French Studies at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières, and since then has worked in publishing, most notably with Éditions Trois-Pistoles, as the founder and co-director of the Saberdache collection, dedicated to reissuing texts from 19th-century Quebec. Since 2004, Brassard has participated in a number of literary events as well as numerous poetry readings throughout Quebec.

Mario Brassard is now a full-time writer.
