FABIO SCOTTO was born in La Spezia (Italy) in 1959 and he lives in Varese.

He is the author of these eight volumes of poetry: Il grido viola (Venice, 1988 - Ungaretti Young Poetry Prize 1988), Il bosco di Velate (Venice, 1991), Il nodo della voce (Lugano, 1997), Piume/Plumes/Federn (Rimbach, 1997), La dolce ferita (Latina, 1999), Genetliaco (Florence, 2000 - Metauro Poetry Selection Prize 2001), Voix de la vue (Plancoët, 2002), L’intoccabile (Florence, 2004). Some of his poems have been translated in french, german, spanish, galician and greek. Professor of French Literature at IULM University of Milan, he published many volumes of essays, such as Le Neveu de Rameau di Denis Diderot (Milan, 1992), Bernard Noël: il corpo del verbo (Milan, 1995), La nascita del concetto moderno di traduzione (Rome, 2001, with G. Catalano), and translations of works by Victor Hugo, Alfred de Vigny, Villiers de l’Isle-Adam, Yves Bonnefoy and Bernard Noël. He won the Civitanova Poetry Translation Prize in 1998. He directed the Cahier Yves Bonnefoy of the french review «Europe» (june-july 2003) and he is now organizing the Cerisy-la-Salle’s (France) international congress about “Bernard Noël” (july 2005). Coordinator for the Italian Poetry of the spanish review «Serta» (UNED - Madrid), he writes for some of the most important european literary magazines.
