Мені наснилася війна: з чорними волоссям
Брудом під нігтями і сухою ороговілою шкірою.
Все відбулося. Залишилося відголосся.
І каноніри відходили зі зневірою.

Маленькі хлопчики. Вчорашні мішені,
Не винні нікому, винні лиш собі.
Ховають на згадку гільзи в кишені,
Змиваючи кіптяву в себе з лобів.

На фото вони будуть вічно засмучені.
З печаткою смерті – обличчя незримі.
Обнесені щільно дротами колючими
І блок-постами німими.

Мені наснилася війна: ця пані у чорному,
У неї від крові червоний рукав.
Вона підбирала нещадно поборених,
І їх автомати, гвинтівки і ПЗРК…

Війна розставила все на місця.
На місці життя – лиш залізні хрести,
І кожен патрон – це не просто цвях.
Це є я і Ти. Це є я і Ти.

Ukrainian poet, musician and cultural manager Grigory Semenchuk was born in 1991 in Khmelnytsky, Western Ukraine, where he organised slams and poetry events between 2005 and 2007 and coordinated the literary project “West Front of Young Poetry” (with O. Vaskiv).

He is a columnist, literary coordinator of Lviv socio-cultural periodical “Prosto Neba”, a Lviv-based social and cultural magazine, president of the “Dialoh” artistic council and director of the Authors’ Reading Month Festival in Lviv. He has been the chief coordinator of the International Literary Festival within the framework of the Publishers Forum in Lviv (2009-2015).

Grigory Semenchuk participated in the numerous art festivals in Ukraine and abroad. His poems, that were translated into Russian, Polish, German, French and Belorusian and appeared in the anthologies and magazines. He is the author of two books of poetry — Internal Jihad (2012) and More verses and songs (2015) and the editor of the Letters from Ukraine anthology of poetry, published in Polish and English in 2016.

Together with Ulrike Almut Sandig he forms the Landschaft project, which stirrs their German and Ukrainian poems with hip hop, elektropunk and pop music. Together with Yuri Izdryk he established the music and multimedia project “DrumTyAtr”. He also develops his own solo hip-hop project BRAT. He lives in Lviv.
