Martín Gubbins (Santiago, 1971, www.martingubbins.net). One of the founding members of the Foro de Escritores (www.fde.cl) Chilean version of Bob Cobbing’s Writers Forum in London, and noted figure in the avant-garde poetry scene in Latin America. He has published several books of poetry and visual poetry, such as Álbum (Ediciones Tácitas, Chile, 2005), London Poems 2001-2003 (Writers Forum Press, London, 2010), Fuentes del Derecho (Ediciones Tácitas, Chile, 2010), Escalas (Ediciones Mango de Hacha, México, 2011), Tic Tac T (in collaborationn with the American poet and artist John M. Bennett (Luna Bisonte Prods, USA, 2012), London Annotated (Cumshot, Chile, 2012) and Cuaderno de Composición (Libros del Pez Espiral, Chile, 2014). He has also recorded his sound poetry alone or in collaboration with other artists (some of those recordings are available online at: http://martingubbins.bandcamp.com/releases y http://bakerogubbins.bandcamp.com/releases); and has participated in numerous exhibitions, installations, readings, concerts and performances in different countries. Among his recent works standout the piece Sonetos, visual poem for ballet based on texts by Luis de Góngora and the “Bailes Chinos” from Chile, which can be seen in diverse live versions at his Youtube channel: https://youtu.be/T3M3XELp0VA.
