Pouneh Nedaii was born in Iranian Azerbaijan in the northwest of Persia in 1973. She studied Persian Literature and was founder of the first students' newspaper 'Neghahe Tazeh' ( New View) to be published after the Iranian Revolution. Since then she has been working as a poet, journalist and head of the literature magazine 'Shokaran'.

She is the editor of 'Vijenameye Sher' (Special edition for poetry) of the 'Donyaye Ssokhan Magazine' in Tehran and member of staff at 'Hambasteghi' newspaper in the section of literature and feature. She is member of the Executive Board of the Iranian Press Agency and counsellor of the Islamic-Arabic Centre in South Korea as well as head of the publishing house Amroud.

Her poems combine a linguistic simplicity with a topical profoundness and great humanity.
