Peter Ghyssaert
Author

* 03.01.1966, Wilrijk/Antwerp, Belgique
Réside à: Antwerp, Belgique

Peter Ghyssaert was born in 1966 in Wilrijk/Antwerpen. He is poet and musician. Ghyssaert studied Music History, violin and chamber music at the conservatories in Brussels and Antwerp. He gives music lessons and belongs to the string quartet „Ars Longa“.

1991 Peter Ghyssaert published his first volume of poetry Honingtuin (Eng. honey garden) and was perceived as a real late romanticist. His poems show an almost obsessive interest for decay, transience and death, that gives his poetry a decidedly melancholic tone. At the same moment the author ironizes his romantic attitude through a theatrical, almost pathetic language.

Today Peter Ghyssaert lives in Antwerp.
