Henning Ahrens was born on November 22, 1964 in Peine, Germany. He studied English Literature, History and Art History in Göttingen, London and Kiel. In 1995 he received his PhD from the University of Kiel with a work about John Cowper Powys. Ahrens also works as a translator from English into German.
