Duško Novaković is a contemporary Serbian poet, born in 1948 in Podgorica, Montenegro. He studied Yugoslav and world literature at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. Novaković has published over fifteen books of poetry, some of which have been translted info foreign languages. He has received numerous awards including Vasko Popa Award and award and recognition from City of Belgrade for contribution to Serbian literature.
He was a participant and guest at some of the world famous festival of poetry, and lectured on contemporary poetry in Yugoslavia at the University of Tagore in India in 1984, and contemporary Serbian poetry at Department of Slavonic Studies at the University of Vienna in 2008. Three books of literary criticism about potery of Duško Novaković have been published. He translates poetry and prose from the Macedonian.
Duško Novaković is a member of Serbian PEN Center and Serbian Literary Society. He lives and works in Belgrade.
