Aymen Hacen, born 1981 in Hammam Sousse, is a poet, novelist, essayist, and literary scholar. He was lecturer at the École Normale Supérieure Lyon and Assistant at Université de Monastir in Tunisia. Today, he is an academic at the ENS in Tunis. Hacen has published various poetry books since 1999, among his most recent "Tunisité, suivi de Chroniques du sang calciné et autres polèmes". He translates from Arabic to French and vice versa, among others the poetry by Mohamed Ghozzi, Moncef Mezghanni, and Adonis. Numerous essays on the work of authors as diverse as Cioran, René Char, Mahmoud Darwich, Samuel Beckett, Henri Michaux, Yves Leclair, Pierre-Albert Jourdan or Salah Stétié. Hacen is a regular columnist for the magazine "Causeur".
