علی عبداللهی

Ali Abdollahi was born in Chorassân (Iran) in 1968.

He studied German language and literature at the Beheschti University in Tehran, and completed his degree with a thesis entitled 'Concrete poetry in the teaching of German'. B etween 1993 and 2001 he worked at Radio Iran, bringing both German and Persian literature to its listeners. During this time, Abdollahi also worked as a university professor, journalist and as a translator. He has published more than twenty translations, including works by Rilke, Nietzsche and Hermann Hesse.

Two of his own volumes of poetry have also been published, and translated into German: Immerfort gehe ich im Dunkeln (1997) und So kommt sie nicht mehr (2003)
