Festival Poem
There were days
where I gathered myself from
the morning’s scattered pieces.
The building blocks were
well-intentioned clouds,
the rusty post in front of my window,
a peculiar wind in
peculiarly formed branches.
The ordinary boasted with a vengeance.
By midday I was complete,
a loose structure of the day’s grace,
the traffic noise burst inside me.
I often hung out with the sun.
In the evening we sat under the trees
or cast a glare over the café tables.
Then I was alone. The next morning,
a new ruler was bred.
There were weeks where it was like this.
