Ronny Someck (born 1951, b. Bagdad, Iraq) came to Israel as a young child. He studied Hebrew Literature and Philosophy at Tel Aviv University and sketching at the Avni Art Academy.

Someck has worked as a counselor with street gangs and teaches literature and leads writing workshops. He began publishing in 1968. In 1997 he recorded with the musician Elliot Sharp the CD 'Revenge of the Stuttering Child' in New York. In 1998 Someck, together with artist Benny Efrat, showed an exhibition entitled 'Nature`s Factory' at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

Individual poems of his have been published in Albanian, Arabic, Catalan, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, Georgian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, and Ukrainian.

Someck has received the ACUM Special Jubilee Prize, the Prime Minister`s Prize and the Amichai Prize (2004).
