Oleh Kotsarev (Олег Коцарев), born on August 22, 1981 in Kharkiv, is a Ukrainian poet, writer, translator, critic and journalist. He graduated from the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University's Department of Journalism.

His first collection of poetry, The Short and the Long, came out in 2003 and has been awarded the prestigious Ukrainian literary award Smoloskyp. Several other collections followed, e.g. My First Knife (2009), Coincidence of Yahotyn (2009), What Time It Is (2013), Circus (2015), Black Bread, White Whale (2015). His works have appeared in various translations in literary magazines and anthologies in Europe and abroad. Together with Julia Stakhivska, Oleh Kotsarev compiled the anthology Ukrainian Avant-garde Poetry of 1910–1930s. Together with Iryna Zabiiaka, he compiled the book A Walk around the Brewery with Ukrainian translations of the Czech poet Ivan Wernisch.
Kotsarev was awarded several prizes for his literary work and his translations, e.g. the Molode Vyno award, the Valerian Pidmohylnyi Prize, and the METAPHORA Prize for translation

He lives and works in Kharkiv.
