Ken Babstock was born in Newfoundland in 1970.

He worked as Poetry Faculty at the Banff Centre for the Arts and currently lives in Toronto, where he is the poetry editor for the Toronto-based press House of Anansi.

His poems have appeared in several Canadian Journals and anthologies, including The Malahat Review, The Fiddlehead, PRISM International and Canadian Literature. His poems have been translated into Dutch, Serbo-Croatian, Latvian, and German.

He won the Milton Acorn People's Poetry Prize e and the Atlantic Poetry Prize for his collection Mean.

Babstock's most recent collection, Airstream Land Yacht, won the Trillium Book Award, was shortlisted for the 2007 Canadian Griffin Poetry Prize, and was nominated for the 2006 Governor General's Award for poetry.
