Jonáš Hájek (born 1984 in Prague, Czech Republic) has released three poetry collections and received the Jiří Orten Prize in 2007 for his debut Suť. This is a prize awarded to excellent writers and poets under thirty. Jonáš Hájek is also a translator from German and has translated poetry by Günter Eich, Mascha Kaléko and Marion Poschmann. As well as poetry, he is involved with music, having studied music in Prague; he works as an editor at a publishing house for sheet music. He is a member of the Czech Writers Association and their editor for the Czech Lyrikline section.
