Pilv is also a translator, mainly from Russian (i.e. the Estonian and Latvian Russian-language authors Lev Rubinshtein, Aleksey Gastev, Sergey Zavyalov, and Mikhail Bakhtin) but also from German (i.e. Celan and Bachmann). He has been active in theatre, translating a number of Russian avant-garde and contemporary plays (Vedensky and Pryazhko, respectively), as well as working as a dramatist for several theatre productions (including co-authoring Omen in 2018, which received the biannual Estonian Prize for Drama).
