Volha Ipatava graduated from the philological faculty of Belarus State University.

She worked at TV studios, as an editor of the literature magazines “Literature and Art”, “Red Successors” and “Heritage” (Spadchyna) and as a publisher of the newspaper “Culture”. She is chairwoman of the Union of Belarusian Writers.

Her diverse and numerous work was translated into various languages like English, German, Bulgarian, Polish, Lithuanian, Hindi, Slovak and Czech and is included in the educational program of Belarus schools. Beside poetry, essays and historical novels she wrote a libretto for the opera, played at stage of the “National Opera Theatre” of Belarus.

Ipatava was rewarded with several prizes and she is a Honorary Academic of the “International Academy of Sciences of Eurasia” since 1995.
