Sergio Gareca Rodríguez was born in Oruro (Bolivia) in 1983. He is a poet and heavy metal musician. His published works include several volumes of poetry, a volume of stories and a volume of visual poetry.
In 2010 he received the Young Bolivian Poet Prize, awarded by the Bolivian Book Chamber [Cámara Boliviana Del Libro] and the Pablo Neruda Foundation.

He is co-organizer of the international poetry festival in Bolivia.
As a metal fan, he was part of the punk group "Hechos de Sangre", the heavy metal band "Preludio" and the groups "Iki" and "Allinkay", which serve the genre of Folk Fusión and Latin American music. He also directed the short film "El poema que me he prohibido" and the feature film ""Marcha de órdenes"" and was co-founder of the collective Perro Petardos, with which he won Siart 2016 at the Bienale of International Contemporary Art.
