Senka Marić writes poetry, prose and essays. She was born in 1972 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She studied drama pedagogy and comparative literature. She is the editor of the website Strane (strane.ba), an internet portal for literature, culture and art that brings together authors from the former Yugoslavia.
Senka Marić has won several literary awards, including the European Knight of Poetry Award in 2013 and most recently the Meša Selimović Prize 2019, which is significant for the entire region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro).

Her favourite book, or the book she wishes she had written, is Medea. Voices. by Christa Wolf. Senka Marić is a member of the Writers' Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the P.E.N. Centre of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
