Spoken word poet María Eloy-García (*1972, Málaga, Spain) studied geography and history. She made a name for herself on the poetry scene by taking part in various slams. Eloy-García defies the usual expectations in her poetry. She initially adopts current perceptions, influences and customs only to contradict them later with her idiosyncratic language. Sometimes ironically, sometimes surreally, she describes human behaviour in everyday situations: on the bus, in the queue, in the lift.
