Jacek Dehnel (born 1980 in Gdańsk) is a poet, novelist and translator. He published eight volumes of poetry, translations (Larkin, James, Verdins, Fitzgerald, White), five novels ("Lala", "Saturn", "Mother Makryna" [Matka Makryna], "Krivoklat", "But with our Dead" [Ale z naszymi umarłymi]), which were translated into several languages, several short prose volumes, and, together with his husband, Piotr Tarczyński, a crime series about Professor Szczupaczyńska (under the pseudonym Maryla Szymiczkowa).

He was awarded the Kościelski Prize (2005) and the Polityka magazine prize (Paszporty Polityki 2006), he was nominated five times for the Nike Prize, three times for the Angelus Prize and once for the Szymborska Prize.
He was a fellow of the Literary Colloquium Berlin and the DAAD Artist-in-Berlin, among others.
