Bonafide Rojas (10/08/1977) was born & raised in The Bronx, New York. He is the author of four collections of poetry: Notes On The Return To The Island (2017), Renovatio (2014), When The City Sleeps (2012) & Pelo Bueno (2004). He is the recipient of The 2018 BRIO: Bronx Recognizes It’s Own Award. Rojas has appeared on Def Poetry Jam (Season IV) & has been published in: Chorus: A Literary Mixtape, Bum Rush The Page, Role Call, Manteca!, Learn Then Burn (Pts. 1 & 2), Palabras, The Centro Journal, The Acentos Review, The NY Daily News, & The NY Times. Rojas has performed at: Lincoln Center, The Brooklyn Museum, El Museo Del Barrio, Bowery Ballroom, The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, Pregones Theatre, Rotterdam Arts Center, The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, BusBoys & Poets, Festival De La Palabra, Festival Kerouac Vigo, The Bronx Museum, University Of Puerto Rico, Columbia University, UC-Berkeley, New York University & Penn State University. He attended Columbia University & currently works for The City University Of New York as a Trainer for CUNY Service Corps.
