Poet and writer Amel Moussa was born in Tunesia in 1971.

She studied Sociology at the University Tunis. Besides her literary work she writes sociological essays and her graduation on “Religion in the Tunisian society”.

Moreover, she writes for the feature pages of the newspaper „Al-Shark Al-Awsat“ and columns for the renowned Arabic magazine „asharqalawsat“ (“Middle East”).

Between 1996 and 2005 Amel Moussa published three volumes of poetry. The first two were translated into Italian, several other poems into English, Spanish, French, Polish and Czech.

Moussa took part at international poetry festivals, also at the Frankfurt book fair, Germany, in 2004.
