Tomás Cohen, born 1984 in Chile, is a Berlin-based writer, translator and painter. He studied Musicology and Fine Arts at P. Universidad Católica de Chile and Art History at New York University. After living for two years in Nepal, he is moved to Germany to study Buddhism, Tibetan and Sanskrit at Universität Hamburg.

As founding member of the 'foundintranslation' writers collective, he organises the multilingual reading series Hafenlesung in Hamburg, and has been resident translator at the Übersetzerhaus Looren (Switzerland), the Baltic Center for Writers and Translators (Sweden) and was the Chilean Editor-at-Large of Asymptote journal.
His poetry has been translated into six languages, and published in German (translated by Monika Rinck) in the journals Edit, Park, NOX and Prothese. He has published the books Redoble del ronroneo (Buenos Aires Poetry, 2016) and Un árbol de luz íntima (Ediciones Bastante, 2019).
Since 2019 he is living in Berlin.
