Talk

make any sound
hiss or bubble
like brick in the hearth

like it was a habit
tell them all about
the mountain

the musical instrument
played with the nose
how we press our noses

to the stone
once for humans
twice for dogs

or is it twice for humans?
chisel out
a cave for us

to sleep in
using your hands
and no recitations

no rites belched out
no arts is there
a word for that?

a stream disappears
underground
then hatches

from the trunks of trees
the yellow quivers
of the kōwhai

sprich

mach ein Geräusch
ein Zischen, ein Blubbern
wie Backstein im Herzen

als wär’s eine Gewohnheit
erzähl ihnen allen
vom Berg

vom Musikinstrument
das mit der Nase gespielt wird
und wie wir unsere Nasen

an den Stein drücken
einmal für Menschen
zweimal für Hunde

oder zweimal für Menschen?
hau für uns
eine Höhle heraus

um drin zu schlafen
benutz deine Hände dazu
und keine Rezitation

keine Riten ausstoßen
keine Künste            gibt es
dafür ein Wort?

ein Strom verschwindet
unterirdisch
und taucht wieder auf

aus den Stämmen der Bäume
die gelben Köcher
vom Schnurbaum Kōwhai
