Και σήμερα, παρόλο που κολλάς στο παρελθόν
τόσο εύκολα ξεχνάς, όπως κάθε καλλονή εξάλλου.
Μα δε φταις εσύ που η μνήμη σου αδυνατίζει.
Θα φταίει η εποχή, που ελάχιστα θυμάται από το χθες
και τίποτε δεν προσδοκεί από το μέλλον.
Όμως γιατί τόση οργή;
Τον Ταύρο ακόμα εκδικείσαι που κάποτε σε απήγαγε;
Δεν έχουν ακόμα κατευνάσει, το πλατύλευκο σου πρόσωπο,
τα τόσα Αφρικάνικα διαμάντια ή ο μαύρος τους χρυσός;
Ποιες τύψεις σου ακόμα προσπαθείς να εξαργυρώσεις;
Πρόσεχε. Φτάνει πια ματαιότητα και αλαζονεία.
Κάμερες υπάρχουνε τώρα παντού. Σε πήρανε χαμπάρι.
Θυμάσαι την Εκάβη; Αλυσοδεμένη τη σύραν τελικά,
παρόλο που γέννησε έναν Έκτορα.
Μα έχεις χρόνο ακόμα.
Σκούπισε τo δάκρυ σου, ωραία μου και στάσου.
Εξάλλου όλοι συγχωρούν μία Βασίλισσα.
Τους κάνει να αισθάνονται ευγενείς.

So today, no matter how bonded or adhesive with the past
you so easily forget, as every beauty does.
It is not your fault though that your memory deteriorates.
It might be our era’s fault, which sustains little from the past
and yet awaits nothing from tomorrow.
But why such a rage?
Are you still avenging the Bull that once had you kidnapped?
Hasn’t yet appeased your wide-white- face,
neither by all the African diamonds nor by their black gold?
What kind of remorse are you still trying to redeem?
Behold. Enough with your vanity and arrogance.
Cameras are everywhere now. You have been spotted.
Remember Hecuba? She, finally, crawled in chains
in spite of mothering Hector.
But you still have time.
Wipe your tear my belle and stand up.
Besides, everybody forgives a Queen.
It makes them feel noble.
