japanisch | Kayoko Yamasaki

Spring Children, A Requiem

englisch

the little ones are coming back
over the ultramarine of the cold ocean
becoming fluttering flowers of snow
falling on the path through the early spring woods
becoming the name of that spirit—good words.
as such, they warm mother’s trembling breast,
becoming the spirits living in the trees, to recall
the old song to father’s frozen ears as he rushes down the animal trail
the young children return from the dark country under the water
