a józan óvatosság?
- Ott nem ál- semmi, no persze, de
                                                    -e ott bármi is?

Nagy fehér szűz papírlapokkal
álmodom mostanában
A rejtőzködő Isten kéziratlapjai
[Nagyon földhözragadt kép’ még mindig]
Vannak-e ikes igék az angyalnyelvben?
Folyik-e egyáltalán a találgatás?

A valódi történést nem venni észre
Körültörténik minket szüntelen
(mintegy fehérjeszintézisünktől kísérve),
így azt hihetni: ő a háttér
                       Ősz, tavasz. Nyár. Tél.
Születés, nemzés, halál     (Némiképp
                                           egocentrikusabban)
Rejtett forrású madárfütty, fürt virágok
bőr üzen bőrnek tengerillatot...
(Um Gottes willen! Már-már [?!] giccsesen)

Nyugodt, nagy, lomha folyamokról is álmodom
Mindmáig kibetűzetlen távírószalagok
Rögeszménk az, hogy másról van szó
- Valamihez képest biztosan másról…

Nem, nem célunk az álkatarzis.

About something else

The narrative – as always – is a pseudonarrative; yes, yes
Our words are pseudowords; we can
just as well drape the narrative
with them, but to what end?
(Assuming we do not aim for a pseudocatharsis)

A trap that a phrase may set – may? does! – for us
is easily avoidable (with a bit of routine),
but to what shores – the question begs itself –
                                           will prudence banish us?
Nothing is pseudo there, I’ll give you that, but
                                                  does it bear any fruit?

I dream nowadays of big, white,
sheets of virgin paper
The manuscript arks of the concealed God
[Still a very down-to-earth image]
Are there strong verbs in the tongue of angels?
Is there any guesswork going on at all?

The real narrative remains unnoticed,
As it constantly (r)evolves around us
(accompanied by our protein synthesis, so to say),
so one could believe: it is the background
                                              Autumn, spring. Summer. Winter.
Birth, procreation, death (somewhat more
                                                egoistically)
A birdsong of an unseen source, bunches of flowers,
the scent of sea conveyed from skin to skin…
(Um Gottes willen! Verging [?!] on tackiness)

I also dream of big, lazy, placid rivers,
ticker tapes undecipherable to this day;
We are obsessed that it is about something else
– compared to one thing or another, it surely is

No, we do not aim for pseudocatharsis.
