Überall atmen wir den Geruch des Kriegs,
selbst nur als Name kriecht er uns in die Nase,
wie der Geruch von frischem Brot aus der Ferne.
Als ob sich welche in uns bekämpften,
als ob das Leben mit seinen Waffen den Tod herausforderte,
das Blut der Worte vergießend.
Die Monitore zeigen den Himmel derart nah,
dass es unmöglich ist, Gott nicht zu sehen,
wie er von Front zu Front schreitet.

„Gott muss verrückt geworden sein“, sagt mein Sohn,
„nicht einmal ein Mensch, der seinem eigenen Verstand hinterherjagt,
kann sich selbst derart feind sein“.
Für einen Moment überlege ich, was mit dem Verstand passiert ist.
Ich möchte mich auf einen Stuhl zu setzen
und trinken, bis ich wieder besoffen bin.
Vielleicht finde ich zufällig den Ring wieder,
den mir meine Frau in einer funkelnden Nacht schenkte,
dort, bei den Kieselsteinen, wo ich ihn verlor.

Everywhere we draw in the reek of war
That even in name strikes the nostrils

Partout nous prenons l’odeur de la guerre
bien qu’il ya sa nom, son odeur
previent au nos nez comme l’odeur du pain frais.
Comme si quelqu'un se bat à l'intérieur de nous
la vie éprouve la mort avec son arme
en coluant le sang des mots.
Les écrans sont si proches du ciel
c’est impossible de ne pas voir le dieu
en passant du front au front

Mon fils dis, “dieu probablement est devenu fou”
« ceuli qui vu  à l'arrière de son esprit
ne peut pas être tellement l'ennemi de lui-même ».
Un instant je pense, quel est la raison.
De mon intérieur il vient quelque chose de m'asseoir sur une chaise
Et boire de raki jusqu’à être ivre de nouveau.
Peut-être que je trouve ma bague
que j’ai perdue entre des cailloux
et que cadeau de ma femme dans une nuit brillante.

Bonjour Dieu

Ovunque sentiamo il fetore della guerra
anche se è solo con il nome che arriva fino al nostro naso
come aroma lontano di pane appena fatto.
La vita sfida la morte con la sua stessa arma
come persone che lottano dentro noi
facendo sanguinare il sangue delle parole.
(…) il cielo appare così vicino
che è impossibile non vedere Dio
passando di fronte in fronte.

Mio figlio dice, “ Dio deve essere pazzo”
“come può essere così nemico di se stesso
lui che non segue che la propria mente.”
Mi domando cosa sia la mente.
Ho voglia di sedermi su una sedia
e bere per ubriacarmi ancora.
Forse ho ritrovato l'anello che avevo perduto
un regalo di mia moglie in una notte radiosa
che avevo smarrito tra i ciottoli.

Khắp mọi nơi ta ngửi thấy nồng nặc mùi chiến tranh
Dù chỉ là cái tên nó gõ vào mũi ta
Như hít vào mùi bánh mì mới từ xa.
Như thể có ai đó chiến đấu bên trong ta
Sự sống thử thách cái chết với vũ khí của chính mình

Tôi nghĩ một lúc về ý nghĩa của tâm trí.
Tôi cảm giác như đang ngồi trên một cái ghế
như đang uống và như lại đang say.
Có thể tôi gặp lại chiếc nhẫn tôi đánh mất
Một món quà từ vợ tôi trong một đêm lộng lẫy
Đã bị đánh mất giữa những hòn sỏi.
