Alessandro De Francesco (Pisa, 1981) lives in London after having lived in Berlin, Lyon, Paris and Strasbourg. He is currently recipient of the writers' grant of the French Centre National du Livre and has been part of the European Graduate School Faculty as a poet-in-residence. He taught literary theory at the Universities of Basel and Paris-Sorbonne, he collaborated with the Centre d'études poétiques in Lyon and he co-founded the creative writing program within the Literature and Languages Department at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and the University Paris Est - Créteil.

He is a member of several Editorial Boards: of the poetry journals Nioques (France) and Semicerchio (Italy), of the literary websites Eexxiitt (Italy) and Littéralités (USA) and of the Singapore Review of Books (Singapore).  

Alessandro De Francesco published the following books of poetry and conceptual writing: Lo spostamento degli oggetti (Verona: Cierre Grafica, 2008), da 1000m (ebook, gammm.org, 2009), Redéfinition (Paris: Mix., 2010), Ridefinizione (Rome: La Camera Verde, 2011), Augmented Writing (Rome: La Camera Verde, 2013, upcoming). He also published several books as a translator from German, French and English into Italian and his own poetry is translated into seven languages and regularly published in journals worldwide.

Alessandro De Francesco is also a recognized visual and sound artist. He realized several performances, installations and exhibitions all over Europe and North-America and has been artist-in-residence, a.o., at the STEIM (Amsterdam) and the Kunsthalle Mulhouse.
